Neha Singh, Managing Editor and Founder My inspiration for fab happened when I started my own business. After having spent 21 years in the advertising and marketing sector, I found myself walking away from the corporate world to start my own marketing consultancy firm. While I was determined to make it work, it was really time-consuming to find information from so many different sources! Hence fab is an effort to inspire, motivate, support and point others in the right direction. |

Gill Mullins, Editorial Consultant I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was a child, and went into journalism straight from university in 1989. As a freelancer since 2000, I know how tough it can be when you leave the security of the 9-5 to go it alone. That’s why fab is such a brilliant idea – a one-stop shop to inspire, inform and put you in touch with women like you – and I’m delighted to be helping make it happen. |

Trevor Aston – Image Editor At age 14 I became a photographer, spending each month’s pocket money on a 36-shot film. After university I joined the BBC, making television promotions to market programmes and services. My passion for still photography became an increasing preoccupation and I started a photography business specialising in portrait and editorial. I enjoy being a part of the very talented and creative fab team. |

Nicolette Brown, Sub Editor My favorite part is definitely when all the pieces come together to form a well-edited good-looking magazine! I have worked on magazines in one way, shape or form since I graduated from Rhodes university in South Africa in the mid-nineties. I am really pleased to have this opportunity to share my skills and experience by working on fab. |

 |
Colette Machado - Sub Editor I have enjoyed every step of my journalism career and have worked in the industry for 15years – 10 years as a BBC news journalist, and five years as editor on a weekly national newspaper. I am passionate about helping women achieve their full potential in their career or business and enjoy life to the full. Joining the fab team has been amazing and I look to add value with my skills and experience. |

Gillian Fowkes – Style Feature I have worked for many years in the fashion and beauty industry on National and weekly magazines - Specializing in fashion and beauty makeovers. I enjoy the fact that I can used my experience and creativity by being a part of the fab team. |

Nimrit Nain Gill - Feature Writer If there was anything I fancied myself as, it was as a journalist. I got my first magazine job straight from college, then wrote features for The Indian Express, a national newspaper. In between came the chance to work for The Shields Gazette in the UK, and until very recently I was also anchoring and producing news for an Indian TV news channel. fab is a dream come true – a team enthused with passion, a magazine whose entire genesis is to inspire. I couldn’t ask for more. |

 |
Denise Prentice – Feature Writter Having spent most of my working life in the areas of law and investment, I decided to follow my creative desires, by starting a blog and becoming a freelance copywriter. I am delighted to combine my love for writing and the business insights I have learned along the way with the fab team. |

The Sound of Mobile Silence
I have recently overcome a mobile phone dependency issue.
Having suspected for some time that this small device had taken over my life, I
decided to take a break from my laptop and take a walk on the local common,
deliberately leaving my phone behind.
Close encounters with a professional declutterer
Coffee, tea, sugar and caramel syrup. A wine glass. Hair serum. A camera. Glass beads. Cosmetics purse. This is a snapshot of what’s on my work desk at the moment, alongside the obligatory piles of paper and a printer. A box of matches (and I don’t smoke). A dummy (and I definitely don’t have any children).
| | Child care - a business expense?
The government has recently announced that they’re going to extend child care vouchers to self-employed people in order to give the economy a bit of a boost by encouraging more start-ups. This sounds like good news, right? More financial support to mumpreneurs and dadpreneurs?
